Using PurgePix

How does PurgePix work?

PurgePix shows your photos one at a time, newest first. Swipe right (or tap the heart) to keep a photo. Swipe left (or tap the trash) to add it to your queue. When you're ready, open the Queue tab, look things over, and tap Delete.

I swiped the wrong way. Can I undo it?

Yes. Tap the undo arrow at the top of the screen, or just shake your phone, and the last photo flies back. Undo works on several swipes in a row. You can also open the Queue tab any time and tap the green arrow on a photo to take it out of the queue. Nothing is deleted until you tap Delete.

Are deleted photos gone forever?

Not right away. Deleted photos go to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where you can recover them for up to 30 days. After that, iOS removes them permanently.

Why didn't my storage go up immediately?

iOS keeps deleted photos in Recently Deleted for 30 days, so the space isn't returned until they're removed from there. To get the space back now, open Photos › Albums › Recently Deleted and choose Delete All.

How is "storage freed" calculated?

PurgePix adds up the size of the original files for each photo you delete. If you use iCloud Photos with "Optimize iPhone Storage", the space saved on your iPhone itself may be smaller, because some originals live only in iCloud.

Will this delete photos from my other devices?

If iCloud Photos is turned on, yes. Deleting a photo removes it from every device signed in to the same Apple Account, just like deleting it in the Photos app.

PurgePix only shows some of my photos.

You may have given PurgePix limited access. Go to Settings › Apps › PurgePix › Photos and choose Full Access.

Streaks and stats

How do streaks work?

Delete at least one photo on a calendar day and that day counts toward your streak. Do it again tomorrow and the streak grows. If you miss a whole day, your current streak resets to zero, but your longest streak is kept.

What are bonus deletes?

Keep your streak going and you'll earn bonus deletes on top of the free plan's daily allowance. Bonus deletes don't expire. They're used after your daily free deletes run out, and you'll see them on the counter at the top of the swipe screen.

Does swiping count toward my streak?

A day counts once you actually delete at least one photo from your queue. Swiping alone doesn't count.

Plans and billing

What's the difference between Free and Unlimited?

On the free plan you can swipe and queue as many photos as you like, and delete up to 20 photos per day. Anything beyond that stays safely in your queue until tomorrow. Unlimited removes the daily cap.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose PurgePix. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep Unlimited until the end of the period you've paid for.

How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, open PurgePix, open the Unlimited screen, and tap Restore Purchases.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy

Does PurgePix upload my photos?

No. Everything happens on your iPhone. PurgePix has no account system and sends nothing about your photos anywhere. Read the full Privacy Policy.
